This is an illegal attempt to exclude the public from our (the public’s) trail. The property owner has no right to close the Five Lakes Trail. The county permit he cites has no such authorization (its a federally protected trail, fortunately for us). This trail has been in place for many decades and it needs to be protected for everyone. Ask the Tahoe National Forest (Truckee Office 530-587-3558) to keep this important public asset open.
